Trip Details

Start/End: Kathmandu to Kathmanu

Duration: 22 days

Difficulty: Very Strenuous

Maximum Elevation: 6,159 m (Nirekha Summit)

Best Time: October - November and March - April

Accommodation: Teahouse / Camping

Nirekha peak is an excellent summit within the border Himalayas range base in the Khumbu region. This peak lies on the chain of Lobuche peak. This peak is a newly opened Himalaya peak of Nepal and is listed in the categories of 'great A' among the trekking peaks in Nepal. Only experienced climbers should attempt the summit of Nirekha because it requires some tactical skill climbing. The trek consists of two summit pyramids. It is unclear which one is higher. The N summit is simple with a tough crevasse, while the S summit requires one dig in steep (50°) ice. Nirekha peak has two routes, one from the Kanchung base camp and another from the Lake base camp. The ascend from the Kanchung side is preferred on this itinerary since it is easier and shorter. The glacier to the Cho La Col on the Kanchung side is straightforward and has harmless crevasses. From the highest, you will have a chance to ascertain the astounding view of the many high mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt.Cho Oyu, and other surrounding Himalayan ranges.
